Job Description
We are a US-based educational and cultural enrichment program focused on teaching Ghanaian languages (Twi, Fanti, Ga, Ewe) to children of Ghanaian parents living in the United States.
We are looking for a full-time, home-based Ghanaian Language Teacher who is passionate about language, culture, and working with children in the diaspora.
Daily Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver engaging online language lessons for children (ages will vary).
- Teach spoken language, basic reading, songs, greetings, cultural expressions, and age-appropriate vocabulary.
- Maintain a simple daily or weekly teaching report, including lessons covered and student progress.
- Communicate with parents via phone call, email, WhatsApp, or messaging platforms regarding schedules, progress, and questions.
- Schedule, reschedule, and manage lesson times using our online booking/calendar system.
- Identify each child’s learning needs and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
- Create a positive, patient, and encouraging learning environment for children living abroad.
- Occasionally support trial lessons or introductory calls with new parents interested in enrolling their children.

Requirements
- Fluent in English
- Fluent in at least one Ghanaian language (Twi, Ga, Ewe, Dagbani, etc.)
- Comfortable teaching children online
- Reliable internet connection and a quiet teaching environment
- Ability to work US-based schedules
Work Schedule
- Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM Pacific Standard Time (PST)
- Saturday: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM PST
Compensation
- 3000GHC per month to start
- Raise every 6 months
- Performance bonuses every 3 months
Training & Support
If accepted, you will receive training on:
- Online teaching tools and platforms
- How to engage children in virtual lessons
- Communicating effectively with parents in the diaspora
- Lesson structure and curriculum guidance
